What is kids ballet like?
Students learn the foundations of ballet, a beautiful form of dance that is focused on alignment of the body. Ballet is one of the most prevalent forms of dance, and encompasses hundreds of years of study of the human body. For anyone wanting to dance, ballet can be beneficial.

In our children's ballet classes, we also mix in creative movement. This is where we get to use our imaginations and dance in fun, silly ways! We will pretend to be animals such as dinosaurs or elephants and practice a wide range of motion, from crawling and wiggling and twirling and freezing.

All of our classes incorporate movements that have been shown to be essential to human neurodevelopment. In this day and age of technology, it's so important for kids to move in a wide variety of ways!

At the Creative Arts Dance Center, we specialize in teaching beginner ballet. We believe everyone can benefit from learning dance.
Why Ballet?
Anyone could benefit from ballet, whether or not they see themselves dancing ballet long-term. Ballet teaches poise and posture, as well as how to not "scrunch" the spine, extending into a full range of motion. Ballet teaches proper alignment of the body, which can help prevent athletic injuries as well. (Here's a fun article about that!)
